Pier to Pier run

The Pier to Pier race is one of the more popular runs in the North of England with around 1000 entries each year.

The race Starts on the beach at South Shields Pier and follows the beach and coastal footpaths to finish about 7 miles later at the Pier on Roker Beach in Sunderland.

This race takes place on a Sunday in the middle of May. The exact date depends on, among other things, the tides.

The date of the 2012 race is Sunday, May 20th. The race starts at 10:00.
