Pier to Pier Run 2015
The Pier to Pier Run took place on Sunday 17th May.

Craig Isherwood won the race in 38:25, John Clifford was second (38:42) and Steve Rankin was third (39:14).  Alex Sneddonn was first lady (44:26), Michelle Avery was second (47:19) and Heather Steel was third (49:02).

Sunderland Strollers is a sociable running club with a sense of humour which is based at
Ashbrooke Sports Club.

We have over 300 members with 40% women and an age range from 21-72.

Take running as seriously as you like.  Some members never race, while others race most weeks at distances from 5km to Ultra Marathon.

It's £25/year to join Strollers - this includes your England Athletics (UKA) registration fee which entitles you to a £2 discount on any UKA race.

During the Cross Country season we take part in the North East Harrier League.

2014/2015 results can be found on the Harrier League results page.

We also enter teams into various local Relay Races.

In May, we host the Pier to Pier Race.

We arrange training every Monday evening, Tuesday evening, Wednesday evening, Thursday evening, Friday evening and Sunday morning. 

If you are new the Wednesday evening training session, from Ashbrooke Sports Club at 7pm, is the best one to come along to as this is our main training night. 

Usually over 100 runners turn out and we aim have:

• Packs based on your 10k time: sub 41 minutes, 41-45, 45-48, 48-51, 51-55 & 55+

An eight mile steady run at 8:15-8:30/mile

• A six mile steady run at 9:15 -

A joggers group running 4-6 miles at 11-12
minute miles

We also go for a drink in the bar afterwards.

Pier to Pier Volunteers
We are still looking for some more volunteers for P2P, there will be plenty of work to set up and fill goody bags down at Roker from 7am on the morning. Lesley Watson is also looking to recruit some more for her start crew at South Shields.  Contact Harry if you would like to help out.

Currently there are 7 seats left on the bus for the George Ogle race and 1 seat left on the bus for the Blyadon race.  Contact Terry if you would like to book a seat.

Mick Armstrong currently tops the table with 611 points and Dan Anderson is second (590).
